Friday!

Thank you so much to the parents that were able to come in this morning.  It was very nice to have the chance to say hello and put a face to a name.  As I told a few parents, I think that it's important to be in touch with parents as the success of your child is a collaborative effort. Please feel free to call or email if you have any questions or concerns.

Homework:
Spelling:  the words are on Spelling City (if student's choose to play on this site)
corrections should be done 3 times each (due Monday)
                     work package (due Thursday)

Weekly Work Book:  (yellow duotang) should be looked at and signed (due Monday)

Math:      we are having a short addition and subtraction test on Wednesday

Come have a muffin.

If you are able to pop in between 7:45 and 8:15 I would love to have the opportunity to meet you and introduce myself.  You even get a muffin!  Yum.

Tonight:
       No assigned homework.
Could read or review the French vocabulary that we've been learning.

We started rounding numbers in math.  Some children have grasped the concept easily while others are struggling a bit.  I have added a new link, Rounding Practise, to the Student Link section with a rounding game that we played today.
Also, any home practise on multiplication tables would be very beneficial.  I've added a new Multiplication Drills link that they can practise on.  I'd like them to start at 1 and work their way up. They must earn over 95% to be able to print their results.  We will be working toward printing off their results at each level.

Quick Notes

I just wanted to express how happy I am to have such a wonderful group of children in our class. In just these few weeks I have seen positive growth and increased awareness of their actions and the effects of those actions.  I am so proud of the efforts that are being made in the class.  I feel very lucky to be able to spend the days with this group.

We had our first meeting with our little buddies today.  It went very well and we look forward to meeting again.

Tomorrow is our Terry Fox Run.  On my 'Special Dates' section I had it marked as a 10:30 start.  It actually starts at 11:30. If you'd like to come and run (or walk) with us, please feel free to meet us on the field.

There is no new homework.
Spelling test tomorrow and all spelling work is due.
Lesson 2 and 3 in the Lang. Arts book is also due Thursday.

Introduction

I am so excited - and a tad nervous- to start my own blog!

My hopes are that parents and students will visit the blog to check on information involving our class (what homework needs to be done, what assignments are coming up,when tests are coming etc.)
